In this autobiography Sir Hugh Boustead describes his remarkable career starting with deserting as a midshipman from the Royal Navy in 1915 in order to see service with the South Africab scottish in France, where he fought as a private soldier and junior officer from the Somme to the Armistice. For a year he was fighting with the White army of Deninkin. During the World War two he was involved in restoring the Emperor of Ethiopia to his throne. Outside his military life he made an important contribution to the undevelloped countries by establishing peace between tribes and partcipating in various projects in these countries.
