The author describes his stay in Persia in service of one of the feadal noblemen,this position giving him the unique possibilty to get in close contact with the native people. His account starts in 1917-1918, the end of the First world War, with the break down of the Russian army, which presence prevented the Central Powers to penetrate Persia, now making it an open road to the Turkish armies.
